 CEMETERY DEVOTIONS take place today Sunday June 24th in Athboy at 3pm and in Old St. James’ Cemetery at 2pm.                                                                                                                                 

PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION will be taken up at the Offertory at all Masses in the parish on Sunday next.                                                                                                                                    

CELEBRATION FOR THE SISTERS OF CHARITY OF JESUS AND MARY, SOUTH HILL: There will be a celebration of the Eucharist in honour of their Feast in St. James’ Church, Athboy on Friday 29th June at 12 midday.    This celebration is special to the Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary and all those associated with our Muiriosa Services. The SCJMS motto is “God is Love”. We would be honoured if you could join us for Mass and a cup of tea afterwards in Saoirse, Cloran Rd., Athboy.                                                                     

LOUGHCREW MASS: The annual Mass at Loughcrew takes place on Sunday June 24th at 3pm. All are welcome.                                                                                                                                  

CEMETERY DEVOTIONS take place in the Abbey, Rathmore on Friday August 10th at 7.30pm.                                                                                                                                                  

DUMPING IN THE CEMETERY: You are asked not to dump withered flowers, wreaths or other debris in the graveyard. Please bring a bag and remove your rubbish in a proper manner. Dumping is a criminal offence                                                                                          

BAPTISMAL MEETING: The next baptismal meeting for parents who wish to have their babies baptised takes place on Wed July 4th in the Old Darnley Lodge Hotel at 8pm. Bookings for baptisms at this meeting.                                                                                   

BINGO in aid of Church funds takes place on Sunday July 15th in the Old Darnley Lodge Hotel at 3pm.

ATHBOY RETIREMENT CLUB: Curling in St. James’ Hall on Wed next at 2pm. Club meeting on Thurs 28th June at 8pm in St. James’ Hall.

ROOM TO SHARE: The Muiriosa Foundation are currently looking for people in the Meath/Westmeath area to become involved in the Room-to-Share scheme. This scheme involves providing care in your home to an adult with an intellectual disability. You do not need any specific qualification but a sensitivity and understanding of people who have a disability. Home sharing may be done on a fulltime, partime or permanent basis. Support and an allowance to offset expenses will be provided. If you would like to know more about the scheme you are welcome to attend a public meeting on Thurs June 28th at 7.30pm in the Old Darnley Lodge Hotel or contact Sally Daly at the Muiriosa Foundation 044 9340980 Mon – Fri 9am-5pm.                                                                          

MEATH PARTNERSHIP are holding a seminar on Rural Recreation on Thurs June 28th in Trim Castle Hotel at 6.30pm. If you are a community group that has an idea for a rural recreational project and would like to avail of 75% funding, then this is the workshop for you. ALL MEATH SCOUT BED PUSH takes place on Sat June 30th and will pass through Athboy. Proceeds in aid of the cancer unit in Our Lady’s Hospital, Crumlin.
