Meath Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Published on

This is a special year for the Meath Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes. The first pilgrimage travelled in 1948 and this year we are celebrating 70 years. During those years many sick people have been able to go to Lourdes with the assistance of volunteers who attend to the needs of the pilgrims. It is a bringing together of people from all over the Diocese and it is an experience of grace and joy and healing for so many people.

This year marks a special celebration in Lourdes itself; it is 160 years since Our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette. This Wednesday, Sept 12th, the pilgrimage will once again travel to Lourdes with Bishop Deenihan and Bishop Smith, our sick, our volunteers and pilgrims. Please keep the pilgrims in your prayers as they carry with them the intentions of so many people and lay them into the hands of our Lord through the intercession of Mary.

Also, please keep in your prayers  members of the St. James Choir who are accompanying the pilgrimage and providing all the liturgical music over the four days. We wish them well and thank them very sincerely for their time and generosity.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
