Our churches are empty – but Easter reminds us that the tomb is empty too. The Risen Jesus walks with us each day. The new light of the Paschal Candle and the new life that springs from Easter Water: these are symbols of our faith in the Risen Jesus who speaks to us again: “You are the light of the world” (Mt 5:14). So let us play our role as people of faith in the wider community, sharing hope with all who find it hard to cope and being witnesses to the light that shines forth at Easter.

May the celebration of Easter in our parishes give us all a much needed ‘jab’ of Christian hope!
