Confirmation – A Reflection

Turn Your Face to God

Each one of us has different qualities, talents and gifts. All are given to us freely by God, who wants us to use them.

Success or failure does not give the full measure of our worth, each one of us is unique and precious in the eyes of God.

Life is measured by the kindly things we do and the happiness we give.

Along the road there are many promises and opportunities, ready for the taking, some good, some false, some leading to happiness, others lure us to a desolate land.

You are in the driving seat.

Turn your face to the Lord and the shadows will fall behind you.

Nothing in life that is worthy is ever too hard to achieve if you have the courage to try it, and the faith to believe.

God wants us to discover all our wonderful gifts.

Bishop Deenihan will administer the sacrament of Confirmation to seventy three pupils from our primary schools in Athboy, Rathcairn and Rathmore on Thursday 8th February.  Please pray for those being confirmed, that the Holy Spirit may help them as they grow in faith and love and in the choices they make in their lives.
