As we welcome Christ our Saviour to the manger and to our hearts and homes at Christmas, we give thanks to God our Father for sending His Son. Christmas reminds us of the love, mercy and compassion of God, whose concern for us is most evident in the baby born in the straw of the Bethlehem manger.
Christmas is a time to say thanks; to the people who contribute to our happiness and who make where we live, a better place. Our parish marked the 180th anniversary of St James’ Church in 2025, thank you to everyone who helped celebrate this important milestone. As we look to the future, work is ongoing on the provision of our new Parish Office & Pastoral Centre in Athboy. Thank you to everyone whose financial support will help complete the work in 2026. Welcome home to those who have returned to spend Christmas in Athboy with family and friends, may the birth Jesus bring us peace and blessings during this holy season.
