The “empty manger” is an Advent symbol which reminds us that we are waiting for Jesus and during Advent, it is important that we prepare to welcome the Lord when he comes again in glory. Without Christ in our hearts our lives are empty, like the manger at this time. The increasing light on the Advent Wreath tells us that we are closer now to the birthday of our Saviour and we wait in joyful hope for the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ
